Imported cooling system solutions and maintenance

Sponsored by CRP Automotive, the company brings you REIN cars

Have you noticed that many European cars and SUVs no longer have the coolant replacement intervals listed in the service information? This may be because the cooling system needs to be repaired or replaced before this interval. It can be a hose, a plastic connector or a water pump. Your store has options. Some replacement parts may be better than original parts. When dealing with the complexity and longevity of today's vehicles, these parts can create a win-win situation for your store and customers.

These solutions can simplify maintenance and prevent future failures. In a 45-minute webinar sponsored by CRP Automotive, the company that brought you Rein Automotive, we will introduce six common cooling system repairs for BMW, Audi and Volkswagen. These repair solutions will cover more than 6 million cars on the road today.

The beam style may be a bit more expensive, but is it worth the high price? This video is sponsored by ANCO.

CC: People can easily take windshield wipers for granted. It starts to rain, you turn them on, and once the weather is clear, you turn them off. But the wiper is one of the most important safety features of the vehicle. Windshield wipers are essential to the safety of you, your passengers and your vehicle.

To help you maintain a clear view of the road in inclement weather, it is worthwhile to spend some time considering your options when replacing wiper blades.

Wiper blades have been used in vehicles for more than 100 years. The continuous development of wiper performance and wiper technology has given birth to a new, popular and advanced wiper technology, namely high-quality beam wipers. Compared with typical traditional wiper blades, beam blades have obvious advantages and attributes. Cars manufactured before 2000 usually use traditional wipers. Since 2000, approximately 68% of car manufacturers have installed beam blades.

Compared with the traditional blade, the beam wiper blade adopts a more curved structure. The hidden spring mechanism exerts an infinite pressure point on the rubber blade to ensure that the blade conforms to the curve of the windshield. As a result, it allows pressure to be applied to the windshield to a greater extent. It enables you to see the road better with the ability of the beam wiper to "huggle" the outline of the windshield. In addition, the beam blades come into closer contact with the windshield due to their infinite pressure levels, which is also possible due to their length. The presence of a higher pressure point indicates that the windshield is cleaner.

Traditional or conventional blades can only contact the windshield at six to eight points. This is because of its straighter design.

Compared with traditional wipers, the beam blade has fewer moving parts. Since the spring mechanism is hidden, it will not be blocked by snow or ice like traditional frame-type blades. The lower profile of the beam wiper results in reduced aerodynamic lift during driving. Most people don't realize that wind has a huge impact on the performance of wipers. Traditional wiper blades are designed without wind resistance. High speed will cause strong wind, and strong wind resistance will cause the wiper blade and windshield to separate. This separation is called wind lift. When you need wind lift the most, it can cause poor performance. The beam blades have aerodynamic characteristics, so even in high winds, they will not be lifted from the windshield.

The design of the wiper blade itself is the most obvious difference. At that time, the windshield of a car was not as curved as in modern cars today.

At present, modern windshields with curved structures are equipped with beam blades to provide better coverage between the windshield and the wiper blades.

Often overlooked, and mostly misunderstood, consumers usually choose cheaper traditional varieties. The cost of the beam wiper blade is slightly higher, but the benefits far exceed the cost. Understanding these differences shows that some items are worth the extra money—especially those that are essential to vehicle safety. In the long run, better beam blade quality and design will save consumers money.
