Hi, what are you looking for?

Aardvark Automotive, a full-service auto repair company in Amarillo, that has provided complete auto services and repairs to the Texas Panhandle for more than 40 years has selected the winner of the 2022 Wheels to Prosper car giveaway. This year, the recipient of the vehicle is Amarillo resident Tara Lee.

“Once again our local community came together to help a deserving individual in need of reliable transportation, through the Wheels to Prosper Program,” said Brandon Anderson, owner of Aardvark Automotive.

“Late last year, we reached out to the community, requesting donation of a vehicle, parts and other services, and for the 11th year in a row, Amarillo answered our call. This year, we are incredibly grateful to Diana Densmore who donated her vehicle, to a deserving mother of two school-aged children.”

Upon receiving the donated vehicle, the technicians at Aardvark Automotive provided a complete safety inspection and began making repairs. The donated vehicle received new spark plugs, a new brake lamp bulb, new wiper blades, new window regulators, A/C tune-up, oil and filter change, and other repairs. The vehicle also received a complete paint job and a new windshield.

“We are so grateful to Hub City Body Shop in Lubbock for providing a brand-new paint job free of charge. Amarillo Windshields Unlimited also donated a new front windshield. We also received spare parts donated by O’Reilly’s Auto Parts,” Anderson said.

Continuing, he said, “This truly was a community effort. A local resident donated the car. Then multiple businesses donated their time, talents, and parts to get this car in excellent working condition for Tara and her family. We are so lucky to live in this community, which came together to give Tara the gift of safe, reliable transportation for her and her children.”

Aardvark Automotive has been participating in the Wheels To Prosper initiative since it first launched in 2011. “It is a joy each year to provide one of our neighbors with a vehicle in excellent working condition. Even after all we’ve been through over the past few years, the Amarillo community continues to extend their hand to help one another, and it’s always a humbling experience,” Anderson said.

Aardvark Automotive is one of approximately 70 auto repair and body shops throughout the nation that participate in the Wheels to Prosper Program. The initiative has resulted in hundreds of cars being donated to deserving individuals in need of safe, reliable transportation.
