We all know what it’s like to leave the office only to find our vehicle transformed into a block of ice with the wipers frozen to the windshield. Oh joy!

After starting the car to slowly reheat the cabin, you begin an intense scraping session. Not only is it a long process, but there’s a good chance you’ll damage your car’s body and the rubber on the wiper blades in the process.

Did you know that there’s a simple and effective way to remove the ice from your vehicle without damaging anything or exerting yourself? All you have to do is prepare a special solution and keep it in a spray bottle.

The recipe is simple: mix 2 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part water, put the solution in a bottle and spray directly on the windows. Within a few seconds, you’ll see the ice disappear—like magic. And since the freezing point of rubbing alcohol is -114 degrees, you can leave it in your vehicle without it turning into ice.
